The composer, pianist and improviser Zdenek Kral studied double bass at the conservatoire in Teplice in the northwest of Bohemia. Following this he went on to study piano at the Jaroslav Jezek Conservatoire in Prague, nad then he continued his studies in the field fo composition and music theory at the JAMU in Brno (graduated in 1996, MgA. and PhD.). He has written a lot of incidental music for a number of theatres, and he is also involved in classical music creations, jazz, rock and electro-acoustic music. His compositions have been performed not only in Czech Republic, but also in France, Canada, The Netherlands, Turkey, Austria and many other countries. As a performer he is active across the whole Czech Republic, as well as in Belgium, Germany and Russia.
