Jakub Rataj studies at HAMU (Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague) under tutorship of Hanuš Bartoň. At the moment, he is studying composition and new technologies as a part of a scholarship programme at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris.an author of orchestral, chamber and electroacoustic compositions. His work ranges ton the realm of sound installations, film and scenic music. He is also a performance artist and a contemporary music performer. His compositions could be heard at many concerts and festivals, both in the Czech Republic and abroad. He cooperates for example with the BERG Orchestra, Prague Modern, MoEns and others. He is a member of the OEM ARTS art group, which associates and interconnects contemporary artists from the fields of sound performance art, animation and light design.
